Grin.
No, not that big.
Show a few teeth...
There, that's more like it.
Go wash your face,
That's better.
Your cheeks are less flushed,
So rejoin your friends.
Someone just told a joke,
Laugh along.
Let the sparkle reach your eyes,
Now no one'll notice they're red and puffy.
"Hey, how are you?"
Tell them you're good
and re-direct the question to them.
You're too quiet,
and your mind is wandering...
Join the conversation.
Don't forget to
Smile,
Smile,
Don't forget to
Smile,
and they wont suspect a thing...
Jeannes eyes kept closing, no matter how hard she tried to stay awake and cautious. She was just exhausted. Every single muscle in her body hurt, her head felt heavily cloudy and her eyes themselves ached throbbingly. This didn't surprise her, after all she had been traveling for hours on end. Just getting to her destiny from which she was returning, had taken her four hours of straight travel. But even if it took for ever, even if she felt shot and distressed now, it had seriously been high time for her to visit.
The girl blinked at the thought. Her father had not been all too amused when she had announced her journey a few days ago. Most o
She was silent. Not a single word fell from her trembling lips. The cold darkness surrounded her in a strangely comforting, warm way. Pulling her woolen jacket tighter around her shivering arms, she tiredly closed her eyes. Listening into the utter stillness of night and winter.
But she had been mistaken. An almost unhearable whistling of slight, snowy wind was playing fluently with the old roof, making it creak under the pressure of snow and air. The crystal clear icicles hanging in front of the glass would occasionally drip onto the still frozen stone below, making little sounds. The ice cold bench she was sitting on sometimes made crackin
A strange cloud rose out of the earth. It blocked the sunlight and whispered to the dark. Great stone columns seemed to emerge from the parking lot to hold the cloud high in the sky.
Her eyes searched the ghostly vehicles for any clue of another living soul. They stood within the waters silently.
Why wasn't anyone else here? Surely she could not be the only one in the town...she had heard voices. They seemed hurried, like something important was happening. She should know what they were talking about, shouldn't she? Her mind tried to grasp onto their conversation, but it would not, or could not, grasp onto the words.
They were all around h
The bass and treb;
Hide the approaching cord.
But they hear;
And project it
The harmony that;
Sends shivers through the soul
For one moment;
One alone
We can hear;
Waves against the sand
We can feel;
Lightning roaring in our heads
The maestros conduct;
A story with their voices
And leave us;
To revel in their inspiration
Poetry none can hope to mimic
A song that none can sing
As it sweeps threw
Accompanied by roar and blitz
Earth and Sky perform their only duet
Sound turns to smell
A sight the skin can feel
Crisp air starts a fire
Of primordial knowledge
The living understand
Wind shrieks bringing
The storm closer
To relieve dry ground
With long awaited rain

50 Theme Challenge - Card
Evan felt his phobia lurking within his mind, ready to explode and make him wish to melt into the tiles.
"Can I help you?" the nice sales lady asked. She sounded far too kind. Evan glanced at her name tag. It sat on a gorgeous chest, but he was a gentleman, so he said nothing. He had to look again, though, because he forgot to read her name. Penny.
"It's stupid." He gestured to the display shelves. A sickening wave curled up his skin. "I mean, I'm stupid, not this - "
"Nonsense." Penny stepped forward. "Our card selection is quite large, and I get many people confused as to what to buy. So, what occasion is it?"
"My cousin is in the hospi
