NeedJeannes eyes kept closing, no matter how hard she tried to stay awake and cautious. She was just exhausted. Every single muscle in her body hurt, her head felt heavily cloudy and her eyes themselves ached throbbingly. This didn't surprise her, after all she had been traveling for hours on end. Just getting to her destiny from which she was returning, had taken her four hours of straight travel. But even if it took for ever, even if she felt shot and distressed now, it had seriously been high time for her to visit.

Why wasn't anyone else here? Surely she could not be the only one in the town...she had heard voices. They seemed hurried, like something important was happening. What I find stunning is that he has so little to say. And there is no variation, day after day.

Environment
        A lot of writers block cases come just from environment. For example, for a long time my computer was a desktop. Not very portable, right? Well, this meant that if I wanted to do any writing, I had to sit down in the same spot every time and write. I had to deal with the same environment, the same clutter, the same chair, the same sitting position, etc. This doesn't help! So consider your environment. (For suggestions that require moving elsewhere, use a laptop or a good old fashioned notebook with a pen or pencil)

Writing Lesson: Character TraitsIt's come to my attention as of late that there are a few traits that people give their characters for no other reason than making their character unique. I thought I would just ignore it, but then they started popping up everywhere. I mean everywhere. I looked through the deviations in a group yesterday and saw reoccurring "traits" that make me want to tear my hair out. So this handy guide is here to tell you what's been done to death and when (if ever) it's still okay to use it. I am by no means a professional, but I certainly hope you'll take some of this to heart.

Insanity There's nothing strange about a talking carrot. Certainly not. Or, for that matter, any other kind of root vegetable with the capacity for speech. In fact, not only are they able to speak, but they are pretty loquacious. Anybody lucky enough to have had a lengthy conversation with one of these orange delights will tell you that carrots understand a great deal of the world, and their perspective is very valuable. If planet Earth was run by rutabagas and beets, we would already have achieved peace.     My eyes flickered around the thick violet liquid I was in, at the blurred shapes that were buzzing around like bee's. All of a sudden my vision instantly cleared and I could see a female with long dark hair, thin build, and looked intelligent. A male who was a head taller then the female had the same shade hair and thin frame glasses.
    "Who are they? Who am I? What happened?" Many questions like this ran through my head, but one kept popping up more.

    I tried to move my hand, but the only thing that I could control was my fingers. I flexed them and got used to the feeling. All of a sudden my chest started to hurt like something was burning me from the inside.

The Zoo -Worth 1,000 words contest-A hooded figure stared up at the brightly colored sign that boldly read ZOO.

He walked in slowly, being sure to keep his head down.  People laughed and pointed at the caged creatures sitting and writhing before them.  Children were advised to keep away and when they didn't listen, jumped back as the creature inside reached out towards them.  There was plenty of space between each cage but it was filled unnecessarily with venders and merchandise.

In a Heartbeat... Thump, Thump! Thump, Thump! That was all I could hear echoing through my aching eardrums as I stared up at the speckled night sky. I could feel the vibrations throughout my frame. It was cold, bitter cold. The frigid night air of eastern Maine in early winter stung my lungs as if a hive of bees were residing within. If I listened closely, ignoring the thumps, then I could hear the sound of waves crashing against the rocky beachhead. Large clashes of water and rock. Sea and land battling each other for all of eternity. Land fighting the losing battle, denying the inevitable, refusing to give in despite its unalterable fate.

Please, this is an original group. NO fanfictions.
Please place your submissions in the correct catagory.
Be respectful of other's work, constructive criticism, NOT insults.

There is a limit of 5 submissions a day, but there is an exception for the contest folder (which has unlimited submissions until the contest is over). (This helps keep our admins from getting overwhelmed.)

Hey, what's up? This is SupernovaNinja and I'm the Co-Founder for this group. A few things about me:
I love to write both original and fanfiction (though I don't have the time to write as often as I wish).
The only thing I seem to be good at is writing and proofing, seriously, I suck at everything else.
My favorite culture is the Japanese one because they are the inventors of manga and anime. I guess you could call me an otaku <3.
And finally, I enjoy moon-gazing, peace and quiet, and pretty much anything else that's not stressful or harmful in anyway.
I'm a pretty nice person, so I hope we can all get along!
